My socks arrived today. And I love them. And they fit perfectly. Kim did a great job. Yummy! Unfortunately, the palm on the side is not really well photographed. What a nice idea.

I brought them to the post office today and they should be in my pals letterbox by monday or tuesday. I really enjoyed knitting for someone I actually don’t know and I’m looking forward to MY pair. Thanks to Alison for the great organisation!
Sock-update

That’s how far I’ve come after days of decision. My son chose the yarn originally for socks for himself and I had to promise I’d buy some new for him. I chose a simple lace pattern that goes well with the stripes in the yarn. By the way, it’s ‘Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton’.
There will be no update next week: I’ll leave for Vienna on monday morning.

Das durfte Evelyn am Freitag ausbaden. Wir haben uns nämlich in Bonn getroffen und ich habe ihr die bestellte Lopiwolle mitgebracht. Dann sind wir natürlich noch zum Rödel marschiert, weil ich ja auf der Suche nach Garn für die Sockapal-2-za-Socken war. Aber: ich habe nix gefunden. Madame hat nämlich einen exquisiten Farbgeschmack. Evelyn hat mir ungefähr hunderttausend Vorschläge gemacht, aber immer nur “hmmmm”, “weiß nich…” oder “och, nee” geerntet. Tja. Ich hoffe, sie hat es unbeschadet überstanden. Ich musste zur Strafe dann auf dem Rückweg im Zug stehen.
Was die Socken angeht, habe ich jetzt eine Entscheidung getroffen: ich mache es doch alles ganz anders.

What a great start. The first try on my pal’s socks failed already. That is, I like the pattern but had the wrong yarn. So I went to the yarn store next door and found some unicolored cotton yarn I liked. Later my husband said, that in his opinion this was just the color my pal didn’t like. I thought it might work, but okay, it’s a risk. So I obviously have to look for something else. *sigh*

I finally got the email with my pal and so decided to complete my profile a bit.
Any fiber is fine for me and and any design as long as it’s not lacy. Colors are easy: think of a kid that is not too girlish but really likes colorful socks. 
And blue will be right anyway. If you have questions just email me or use the guestbook.
